viewing underlying value in access lookup field -
if have lookup field in access first (bound) column hidden setting field widths 0";1", there way see real underlying value of field without having change formatting of lookup column?
i don't believe there way access available values without editing lookup column.
with said, point out following:
changing formatting of lookup column impacts 2 things.
- when navigate records table view see new definition.
- any forms created in future inherit new definition.
in other words, changing formatting of lookup column doesn't impact forms may have created based upon field.
you can have more descriptive description in table separate definition in forms.
if want know of values suggest edit drop down show concatenation of columns 1 , 2.
for example, lets had value list of
1;foo;2;bar
the value list changed to
1;1-foo;2;2-bar
then know @ glance "hidden" field value represents. (the same done if record source query.)
