Xcode simulator with react-native takes to long -

i'm running mavericks , latest xcode on mid 2009 mpb. there no problem creating awesomeproject , building xcode. problem starts once simulator comes up. see white powered react native screen , after goes away takes long time , packager gives me following output:

error: enoent, open '/users/sm/awesomeproject/awesomeproject.xcodeproj/project.xcworkspace/xcuserdata/sm.xcuserdatad/.dat2864.046' @ error (native) [3:15:07 pm] <start> request:/index.ios.bundle [3:15:07 pm] <start> find dependencies [3:15:10 pm] <start> find dependencies

this followed big red screen!

xcode notifies me got disconnected simulator. 1 warning see in xcode is:

"applications using launch screen files , targeting ios 7.1 , earlier need include launch image in asset catalog."

how can complete getting started test , experience react native?

the red screen has 2 options on i'm not able use, result of not being able run simulator on machine:

the red screen options

bottom line not have enough ram, 4gb. after investigating looks need upgrade or new mac @ point in future. been max frustrating day me least.

here activity monitor tells me machine:

activity monitor result

that how machine looks without xcode , simulator running! there 2 upgrade options if want keep going now. double ram , optionally ssd. know if enough simulator working?

i did see link saying adding more ram helped:

http://iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/120512-how-much-ram-needed-desirable-on-an-xcode-build-machine.html

update

after upgrade 500gb ssd, more ram , clean install of mavericks things working swell. highly recommend way more life out of older mbp. memory express , apple store tips , sweet deals.
